On the upper region of the Gulf Of California is the city of San Felipe, in the state of Baja California. This well cultured, beautiful, little city enjoys a wonderful Florida-like climate. The perfect weather for enjoying the beach and nearby activities.
In preparation for the 32nd Annual SCORE San Felipe 250, happening from April 5th-8th, and knowing that many of you will be making the trip this year, CaliBaja has prepared a list of other things to do while you’re visiting the area.
Things To Do
One iconic tourist spot is ‘Valle de los Gigantes’, where the world’s largest live cacti can be viewed. These cactuses can be up to 2,000 years old, and 65 feet in around. Some of the other activities to check out are camping, off-roading and snorkeling. You can enjoy surfing, shopping and some of the amazing local food options, counting with some
of the finest seafood around. Shop along the Malécon, which is the street located directly off the beach, which is filled with shops and colorful street sellers. Keep in mind that San Felipe is mostly a cash only community, they don’t accept checks or credit cards, however, you will find ATM machines in the area.
Another reason why tourists love San Felipe is because of the many sporting events, fishing tours and boating excursions. Some of the more popular activities include a triathlon, dirt-bike racing and the sport fishing tours for anglers. Kitesurfing and windsurfing are also quite popular activities to do in the gulf. Many tourist will bring their boat and use the public launch and enjoy the day at sea. San Felipe has so much to offer to anyone who wishes to visit this magical vacation spot.
