Hello runners! The 5th edition of the Baja Trail 50K Ultra-Marathon is coming up, where you’ll be able to measure your abilities against one of three challenging races. Runners are offered a 19, 31, and a 50 mile contest, depending on their level of expertise.

The circuit is described as a wide dirt road path, in an area known as “Cuero de Venados”, east of Tijuana. Registration is currently open for all three events, where 250 spots are available for both the 19 and 31 mile races, but only 60 for the 50 mile run. You can register here >> http://bit.ly/2EQjrI1

The 50 mile race is known to be a great challenge, which is why aspiring competitors are required to show proof of participation in a 31 mile run at the very least, between the dates of March 2017 and 2018.

The amenities along the course include 14 replenishing stations for the 50 mile race, 8 for the 31 mile race, and 5 for the shorter one. The posts will count with: water, isotonic beverages, soft drinks, fruit, baked potatoes, candy, and first aid kits.

How to get there? Rancho Casia is located on Boulevard 2000, at the height of KM 22, between the neighborhoods of el Refugio and Popotla. This area is located approximately 30 minutes southeast of Tijuana. A shuttle service is available to those who are staying at the official hotel for the venue, as well as runners who are traveling from the US.

The event was put together by the Baja Trail Endurance team, a group of enthusiasts, who love to explore the Tijuana trails. Mark you calendars! The race will happen on March 17th, 2018.
